I’m Lorie, the designer behind Bird Girl Studio—an independent Los Angeles design practice focused on branding, visual identity, UX/UI, and responsive web design.
I create visual systems that feel expressive without becoming overwhelming: clear typography, purposeful structure, and thoughtful details that help brands communicate naturally across digital and print.
My approach combines strategic design thinking with a strong sensitivity to form, proportion, and visual rhythm. Every decision should support the message while giving the work a distinct and lasting point of view.
Branding & Visual Identity
Strong branding begins with clarity. I build identity systems using typography, color, imagery, and layout to create a visual language that feels cohesive, recognizable, and true to the brand behind it.
Each system is designed to remain consistent across websites, print materials, packaging, campaigns, and other customer touchpoints—without losing its personality.
UX/UI & Web Design
I design responsive digital experiences rooted in usability, structure, and visual consistency. Using Figma, WordPress, and Adobe Creative tools, I develop interfaces that guide people naturally while supporting the broader brand experience.
The goal is never decoration alone. It is to create digital work that feels intuitive, performs clearly, and looks considered on every screen.
A Thoughtful Design Process
Every project begins with listening, research, and collaboration. From early concepts through final execution, I focus on hierarchy, proportion, function, and the details that allow a design system to hold together.
I also draw from hands-on creative techniques—including sketching, collage, silk screening, and emulsion transfers. That combination of analog experimentation and digital precision brings texture and originality to the work while keeping the final result purposeful.
